RAF servicemen die in Afghanistan
TWO members of the RAF Regiment were killed in a roadside bomb blast near their base at Kandahar in Afghanistan. Two other servicemen were wounded in the blast - although they are not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Exhibition marks 90 years of RAF
A NEW exhibition marking 90 years of the Royal Air Force has officially opened at Felixstowe Museum. Mayor Joan Sennington opened the displays, which will be in place in the Felgate Room all summer as an added attraction for visitors to the museum, which is housed in the Ravelin Block alongside Landguard Fort.

Cab drivers' fears for the future
TOWN chiefs have come under fire for licensing too many taxi drivers amid claims the market is saturated and earnings are plummeting. Cabbie Fred Day, 50, who has been driving in Ipswich for the past 20 years, said the situation over the past couple of years has become so bad he now earns an average of less than £30 a day.

Suffolk Heroes go the Distance
Well done everybody! Hundreds of Suffolk runners will today be nursing their aching legs and feet safe in the knowledge that between them they will have managed to raise thousands of pounds for charity after running the Flora London Marathon.

Pupils get stuck in to care for park
CHILDREN from an Ipswich school have adopted part of a popular park and taken to helping rangers to care for it. The students from Morland Road Primary School helped to plant native trees in a section of Orwell Country Park which has recently undergone a transformation.
