Ipswich flats evacuated as fire rages
AN arson investigation was launched today after a fire in three bins spread to an Ipswich shed and engulfed nearby flats in smoke. The flats in Highfield Road had to be evacuated after the fire took hold in the bins and shed at about 12.15am.
Police hunt hit and run driver
POLICE are hunting a hit-and-run driver who fled the scene of a town centre accident which left a pensioner with potentially serious head injuries. The 70-year-old male victim, believed to have been out his wife at the time, was initially thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds following the collision.
Call to release PO business reports
A PUBLIC sector forum is to call on the Post Office to release business reports on all of the branches in Suffolk which are threatened or have already been closed.
