Borough blackout causes chaos
WORK at one of the newest office blocks in Suffolk ground to a halt today after its electric system was blown by a massive power cut. Engineers are working to get systems back up and running at Ipswich council's Grafton House offices - but fear that the work of the borough could be crippled until next week.

Chief banned for FOURTH speeding offence
ONE of Suffolk's top officials is today getting used to letting the bus and train take the strain after being banned from the road for four speeding offences.

Knifeman jailed indefinitely
A KNIFEMAN who almost killed a Suffolk youth has been jailed indefinitely and told he will be deported to Poland. Damian Brauer was jailed for a minimum of 27 months by Ipswich Crown Court and was told he would not be released from prison until the parole board deemed him not to be a danger to the public.

Punch up at primary school
POLICE and an ambulance crew were called to a Suffolk school following an apparent brawl between parents. The incident happened outside Beck Row Primary School, in Beck Row, Bury St Edmunds, shortly before 4pm.

Body in Suffolk town 'not suspicious'
POLICE are not treating the death of a man who was found in a back garden as suspicious. Suffolk police received a call from a member of the public just before 5pm today reporting that they could see a body in the back garden of a property in Hillside, Stowmarket.
