The Suffolk Show, held at Trinity Park, Ipswich is the County’s biggest annual event and offers a great day out for all the family.

The Show is a true celebration of the best of Suffolk; whether it’s our thrilling ring displays, our livestock and equine champions, our finest food and drink produce, our sporting heroes or our stunning homes and gardens.

The highlight, once again and even more exciting than before, will be the thrilling military display in the Grand Ring featuring Apache helicopters, abseiling stunts and a ‘hostage’ rescue mission. Not to be missed!

New this year, is the fast and furious Shetland Pony Grand National. Cheer on your favourite steed as young jockeys’ race their ponies in a high speed dash around a course incorporating ‘mini’ Aintree fences. Also new is Titan the Robot. The might 8ft (2.4m) walking, talking robot will wow the crowds with show stopping performances.

Visitors will be able to indulge in the Show’s core favourite attractions such as the animals - see thousands of animals whether it is livestock on show, international show jumpers, the children’s farm or the rabbit show; the ever popular Adnams Food and Drink Experience with fabulous local produce to taste and buy (check out our new Suffolk Eat Street area complete with ‘cafe pavement style’ seating where you can relax and eat what you buy!); the delights of the Flower and Garden Experience displaying stunning flower arrangements and show gardens; the rural arts and crafts area where you can watch age old skills such as farriery, sheep shearing and thatching; and of course retail therapy – browse the avenues where you will find a huge variety of high quality and great value shopping.

There is plenty for families to do such as joining in a sports activity in the Sports Zone which will be particularly focusing on the run up to the Olympics, animal handling on the Children’s Farm, pond dipping in the Wildlife area, radio DJing, fair ground rides and much more

Suffolk Show 2011 is rated 4 out of 10

We really enjoyed the show. So much to see,but were astonished at the prices of food. We asked for two cheese burgers at a stall near the grand ring, and told the astonished young servers, that we would not pay £6.70 for a burger. Extortionate or what. How can such prices be justifiable? We go to a number of other shows and prices for food there are usually fairly reasonable. We would also point out that other shows, do not charge for parking, as well as an entrance fee. We enjoyed the day, but will not be attending again, because of these issues.
