Agree completely with the comments. Basically, very good food with a great selection. Almost always have crispy duck. Only problem is the price in the evenings is too high. The afternoon buffet price is about half the evening price, and is much more worthwhile.1970-01-01reviewGolden Dragon4Comment By

Unlike the other comment, I have never had any trouble apart from the unfortunate canned bear instead of draught and the high price of this, but then you expect this for the excellent value buffet.
We love this place because the satay chicken is in our opinion the best in town and is just at the end of a nice walk through the waterfront.
The only other draw back we find is the limited selection compared to say Ipswich buffett, but then the larger selection goes with a busier restaurant, which we are not so keen on.
It's a shame that we can't eat here every night!1970-01-01reviewGolden Dragon4Comment By

I agree it has a good selection of food, which is all tasty. It definitely gets packed, it was stuffed to the gills. Great value for money? I'm not so sure. Whilst you can eat all you want from the buffet, you're never going to eat a ridiculous amount unless you want to make yourself ill. £12.50 a head on the friday night we went, plus drinks, £3 a pint of Girlsberg or £11.50 a bottle of ropey wine up to £20 for something a bit more palatable. Also, with the buffet they state 'No tap water served with buffet', I'm not sure of the legality of this. Fortunately i was drinking (ropey) wine or I'd have been mighty annoyed about this. then it came to the bill and a 5% service charge was added. I don't understand this as it's a SELF SERVICE buffet restaurant. Our arty went above and beyyond the call of duty and paid most of their cheeeky tip, only for the waitress to return and demand we pay the rest of it, which someone did, but this left a sour taste in my mouth, as service charge is not compulsory in the UK, and we got no service as it was. My rating is 8/10 for the food, as no complaints on that front really, but 3/10 for general atmosphere, i.e. courtesy, honesty of staff and value for money. Overall 4 out of 10, would have been 5 were it not for their arguing the toss over the tip.1970-01-01reviewGolden Dragon2Comments posted here are the opinions of the visitors of this website and not necessarily those of ipswichlife.com.
